About War Child
War Child work in partnership with local organisations, providing emergency support such as food, clean water, hygiene kits, clothing, and blankets when conflict breaks out, and staying as long as needed to help children and families recover and rebuild their lives.
We share our evidence-based programmes and build the expertise, equipping local partner organisations with the tools and training they need to strengthen their teams and lead long-term support for children and communities. Find out more here.
About the song
Dumped and furloughed, a man decides to lock himself in his shed and try to build an invention he dreamed up as a teenager: a machine to represent a personality in sound. To everyone's surprise but his own, it works, and he hears his personality in the form of sound.
But he doesn't like it. Sometimes that's just the best way of writing a song about learning to like yourself.
The riff of this song is insanely old. I remember riding around Camden on a bike in about 2010 with it in my head. The guitar solo is by virtuoso jazz guitarist Rob Luft.
